A Game-Changing Training Initiative

Over the past year, we’ve completed an ambitious training programme that has transformed local guides across five countries into certified birding experts. Working with leading conservation organisations including BirdWatch Zambia, BirdLife Zimbabwe, BirdLife South Africa, and Namibia Nature Foundation, we’ve delivered professional-grade training that ensures every guide on our route meets the highest international standards.

Comprehensive 12-Day Certification

Our intensive training programme goes far beyond basic bird identification. Each guide completes a rigorous 12-day course that combines:

  • 17 participants including 13 tourism guides, 3 specialised guides, and 1 Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority ecologist

  • Strong government partnership through Parks Authority involvement

Botswana Achievement

  • 15 local guides trained to international standards
  • 196 bird species recorded during practical sessions
