Rui Lisboa, CEO of the National Agency for Management of the Okavango Region (ANAGERO), envisions this experience as a pivotal moment for Angola’s tourism, with some 150 local and international tourists expected to take part.
“We’re going to start at the spring water of the Okavango in Huambo province, moving through Huila and the remote areas of Cuando Cubango,” Lisboa explained. “Along the way, we’ll be camping at four different locations—Cuito Cuanavale, Mavinga, Rivungo, Luiana Sede, and the Horn of Angola. The return journey will take us through Namibia.”

Packages range from 602,000 to 689,000 kwanzas (approximately US$700), and include:

Several projects have been approved to improve tourism infrastructure, including road rehabilitation and the construction of four new border posts, which will pave the way for future explorers, ensuring that Angola’s hidden gems become more accessible while preserving the integrity of the land.
