Caprivi Mutoya Lodge & Campsite is situated in a tiny riverine forest on the banks of a large backwater of the Zambezi River, approximately 24 kilometres east of Katima Mulilo.
Mutoya, which translates as “waterberry tree” in the local language, refers to the trees that border the lake’s shores. Ancient jackalberry trees (African ebony) and many other indigenous trees surround the lodge, providing habitat for squirrels, monkeys, a diverse range of birds, and other small animals. The Zambezi Region is famed for its floodplains, which is home to a variety of aquatic birds.
Accommodation options include air-conditioned contemporary rooms (brick and wood/canvas units), safari tents on the campsite, and a campsite. There is a spacious deck area off the restaurant and bar with breathtaking views and sunsets. Boat trips, fishing, bird watching, canoeing, forest treks, village walking tours, and driving across floodplains are all options.
There is also a workshop or conference pavilion placed in a natural setting with mature indigenous trees. Mutoya Pavilion can hold up to 30 people and is ideal for conferences, workshops, training sessions, corporate team-building exercises, and social events.
Guests can also enjoy being pampered at a spa offering a range of treatments by a professional beauty therapist.
