Muxima – Through the heart of Angola
17 DAYS
Discovery trip for Africa connoisseurs: Luanda, Pungo Andongo, Namibe and train ride with the former Benguela train
The “Black Rocks” of Pungo Andongo look like diced by giants into the savannah. In the middle of these majestic island mountains used to be the Ndongo Empire with its famous warrior queen Njinga. According to a popular legend, the beautiful queen once took a bath in a spring between the rocks and was surprised by foreign soldiers. Frightened, horrified and naked, Njinga managed to escape over the rocks. However, she is said to have appeared so firmly that you can still admire her footprint in the rock today. Follow the traces of the queen into the dream landscapes of Angola – a country full of beauty, almost undiscovered by tourism.
